Drawing inspiration from American military trucks, Land Rover first introduced its now-iconic Series I model back in 1948. And with the 2023 model year marking 75 years since the debut of the Series I, the British firm has opted to mark the occasion via the release of a special 75th Limited Edition Defender.

Offered in two-door 90 or four-door 110 versions of the luxury SUV, the Defender 75th Limited Edition wears a model-exclusive Grasmere Green livery — a paint job plucked from the early Defender archives — and rides on a set of Grasmere Green-colored 20” alloy wheels with matching center caps. The outside of the limited edition model also sports a unique “75 Years” graphic and Ceres Silver bumpers fore and aft — another throwback to vintage Defenders. The inside of the car has also been revised and now boasts Resist Ebony-finished seats, a center console trimmed in rugged Robustec fabric, Grasmere Green dash and door trim, and a cross-car beam that’s been powder-coated in brushed Grasmere Green before having its beam and end-caps laser-etched in special 75th anniversary detailing.

Despite paying homage to the antiquated Series I, Land Rover’s Defender 75th Limited Edition comes loaded with an impressive and thoroughly cutting-edge suite of technology and modern amenities. This includes a 3D surround camera system, Configurable Terrain Response tech, an advanced three-zone climate control system, 14-way heated electric memory front seats, a heated steering wheel, premium LED front lighting, a Head-Up display, onboard wireless charging, and an 11.4” Pivi Pro infotainment system paired with a top-shelf a Meridian sound system. Equipped with a folding fabric roof, both versions of the limited edition are powered by the P400’s 395-hp mild-hybrid, twin-charged straight-six engine, as well.

The 2023 Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition is available for order now, with pricing starting at $90,000 for the Defender 90-based version and $93,000 for the 110-spec. Land Rover has also released new items in its Lifestyle Collection — including two new watches, a backpack, and a myriad of clothing — that sport the same Grasmere Green color theme as the limited edition SUV.
